Founded in 1994, the Department of Neurosurgery of Foshan Fosun Chancheng Hospital has advanced diagnostic and therapeutic equipment after nearly 30 years of development and construction. It is equipped with a full range of first-class domestic advanced examination equipment including dual-source CT, 3.0T magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), digital subtraction angiography (DSA), PET-CT and 24-hour video electroencephalogram (EEG) monitoring system. Boasting robust technical strength, the department is capable of performing microscopic and minimally invasive treatments for various common and complicated neurosurgical diseases, emerging as a modern neurosurgery specialty with strong technical prowess and regional influence.
A well-established and fully functional green channel for acute and critical craniocerebral trauma and cerebral hemorrhage is available round the clock, enabling the department to deliver emergency treatment to patients in the shortest possible time with a high success rate of rescue. Professor Chen Baozhong, the academic leader of the department, is a rigorous scholar with proficient microscopic surgical skills and extensive clinical experience, having accumulated more than 3,000 surgical cases. He has attained profound academic attainments in the treatment of complex and refractory tumors in various parts of the central nervous system, cerebrovascular diseases and cranial nerve diseases. Among them, the surgical treatments for intracranial aneurysms, intracranial tumors, intraspinal tumors, hemifacial spasm (via facial nerve microvascular decompression) and other conditions have reached the advanced domestic level.
