The Department of NeurologyThe Department of Neurology is a high-level professional discipline integrating medical treatment, scientific research and education. As a key discipline of the non-directly affiliated hospital of Guangdong Medical University and a key specialty during the 13th Five-Year Plan period in Foshan City, the department boasts strong professional capabilities.

It is a certified site of the National Clinical Drug Trial Institution (GCP), a Stroke Center accredited by the Chinese Stroke Center Alliance, a National Memory Impairment Prevention and Treatment Center, and a Headache Center recognized under the Chinese Headache Prevention and Control Base System. It also undertakes the responsibility of the Guidance and Management Center for the Prevention and Treatment of Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular Diseases in Chancheng District, Foshan City, leading regional health management.

In the fields of clinical practice, research and education, the department serves as the Teaching and Research Office of Neurology at Foshan Clinical College of Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine, committed to cultivating medical talents. It has undertaken multiple provincial and municipal scientific research projects, won the Second Prize of Scientific and Technological Achievements from Foshan Municipal Bureau of Science and Technology and the First Prize of Scientific and Technological Achievements in Chancheng District, published nearly 100 academic papers, and hosted more than 20 provincial and municipal continuing medical education courses.

The department has extensive clinical experience in the diagnosis and treatment of various cerebrovascular diseases, Parkinson’s disease, cognitive impairment, headache, dizziness, motor neuron disease, peripheral neuropathy, spinal cord diseases, central nervous system infections and other neurological disorders.
