Gynecology

The Gynecology Department is a key clinical department of our hospital with strong technical capabilities. It is an integrated unit of clinical practice, scientific research and teaching, and also a Key Specialty of Foshan City. In December 2014, it obtained the Grade IV Qualification for Gynecological Endoscopic Diagnosis and Treatment Technology of Guangdong Province. In 2016, it was accredited as a Key Specialty of Foshan City by the Foshan Municipal Health Bureau.

With the transformation of medical model from the biomedical model to the bio-psycho-social medical model, the Gynecological Ward keeps pace with the times and provides high-quality medical services for women patients, adhering to the objectives of standardization, minimal invasiveness and humanization. In 2021, it established a close-knit specialty alliance with the team led by Professor Wang Yifeng from Guangzhou Zhujiang Hospital.

The newly expanded ward is divided into Gynecology Ward 1 and Gynecology Ward 2, with a total of 72 beds available and over 40 medical staff members, including 10 physicians (3 chief physicians, 2 associate chief physicians and 2 attending physicians). The department boasts a well-structured talent echelon, forming a professional team with high technical proficiency and rich clinical experience.

Equipped with a complete range of advanced medical devices, the department has imported ultra-high-definition laparoscopes, plasma bipolar hysteroscopes, intelligent hysteroscopic resection systems, imported intelligent electrosurgical workstations, ultrasonic scalpels, HIFU ablation systems and other sophisticated diagnosis and treatment equipment.

At present, the department extensively carries out various routine gynecological open surgeries and transvaginal surgeries, as well as a full range of minimally invasive laparoscopic and hysteroscopic procedures. It is proficient in performing high-difficulty Grade IV gynecological surgeries, such as radical resection for cervical cancer, staging surgery for endometrial cancer, cytoreductive surgery for ovarian cancer, laparoscopic pelvic floor reconstruction surgery and separation of severe intrauterine adhesions. The rate of minimally invasive surgeries exceeds 80%.
